About Bridechilla

Bridechilla emerged from one question, 'Surely planning a wedding, planning a party, shouldn't be as stressful as this?' Originally recorded in her bedroom using a mic on an ironing board, Aleisha McCormack, a TV producer, and comedian launched The Bridechilla Podcast in 2014. Sharing her experiences as a bride - how she blocked out pressure and obligation and horrified her family by not having chair covers - with each episode the audience grew. Bridechilla has now had over 1.5 million listens and helped thousands of brides become Bridechillas, or ‘chillas’ as they like to be called. In 2017 Aleisha launched her own publishing business, Happy Days Media, Inc. Driven by the decision to continue as independent creatives and being told by a mainstream publisher that their wedding planning guides would 'only succeed by removing the swear words'. Aleisha took the leap and said ‘fuck it let’s publish our own books’. After finding a kick-ass printer, many hours sitting at the kitchen bench, writing and designing, Aleisha bootstrapped the enterprise and now offer a range of fun and some would say sassy wedding planning books and items that promote the Bridechilla ethos of planning your wedding minus the stress.Read their story
