About Joshua by Oak

Joshua by Oak is the name of the Phoenix based art studio of Debra Williamson, a self-taught watercolor artist. The name is a reference to the Oak tree of her native Minnesota where she grew up, and to the Joshua tree of the Southwest Desert, where she settled after graduating college with a degree in Architecture. Debra worked for several years in her chosen field of study, and has always had a passion for art, design, and handcrafted goodness. That desire to continue her passion for creating led her to revisit her love of art. While enjoying a variety of subjects, most of her themes are botanical in nature. In her artwork she strives to capture the beauty we see and take for granted every day. It's her hope that the viewer will appreciate these objects with a new and fresh perspective; happy works of art that will bring a smile to your face, and color and joy into your home. Debra is continuously working on her product line, offering stationery, home goods, ornaments, and a variety of high quality art prints in varying sizes.Read their story
