About MI Coast

Two passionate travelers, designers, and entrepreneurs, Kim and Tom are always planning, creating, and building their ideas into reality. What started out as an idea and a logo quickly turned into a side hustle. Living and working in Chicago, the two would pack up their kids into the Jetta and travel 6 hours, one way, every weekend to Tom's family farm in Croswell, Michigan - just off the coast of Lake Huron. ​Quickly finding that there were more fans of the Mi Coast gear than the Jetta could hold, the two developed the next phase of the Mi Coast brand experience. They spent the early spring gutting and refurbishing a trailer into a retail store on wheels. Traveling around the state to art fairs, sidewalk sales and festivals, the Mi Coast brand expanded its fan base and offerings. Expanding the clothing line into hoodies, hats and specialty designs for ladies and kids, they also added glassware, home goods and artisan foods. All locally sourced and made by hand with other artists around Michigan. Today, we still sell wholesale and can be found at several retail locations around the midwest. As for Mi Coast as a brand, we have moved to a 100% online storefront to better serve our guests. We connect with people from around the world who share in our passion for the Great Lakes State of Michigan and all the beautiful coastlines that it has to offer.Read their story
