Thanks, Randall ############## I created Chicaoji Sauce with the help of the people who ate at the Vortex Cafe on Lopez Island, WA in 2007. It began when a friend gave me a handful of raw cacao and dried goji berries. I thought this flavor could use a bit of spicy heat so, as a hot sauce maker of many years, I went to the local organic grocery store and bought some of every dried chili pepper available. I made seven versions of this new goji berry/cacao/chili combination. I shared these concoctions with the Vortex Cafe folk. As the Summer progressed I played around with ingredient combinations guided by their responses. After much fine-tuning, a “Taste of Lopez Island” emerged. Years of reviews confirm Chicaoji is a culinary delight that makes food taste better. Goji berries and cacao are both considered “superfoods” and I have long believed that “Food is Medicine”. Ingredients are: Apple cider vinegar Water Chipotles (smoked ripe jalapeños) Goji berries Maple syrup Celtic Sea Salt® Cacao Ingredients are Organic, Vegan,Gluten-free GMO-free Paleo diet compatible. Contains no preservatives, flavorings, colorings or any additives of any kind. We named it Chicaoji based on 3 main ingredients: goji berries, cacao and chipotles.
