ABOUT ChicNicity is a Boston based ethnic inspired contemporary women’s ready-to-wear clothing label. Created in 2017 by a group of friends who wanted to be “Chic in their Ethnicity & in the City”. They desired clothing pieces that honored their ethnic heritage and at the same time reflect their modern and progressive lifestyle. ChicNiCity pieces are currently being sold in boutiques in the US, South America, Ghana & Nigeria.  BEHIND THE CHIC Bibi Asenuga is an Apparel Development Consultant and a trained Lawyer. She is one the Co-Founders and the Creative Director of ChicNicity. Prior to her starting ChicNiCity, she worked with international fashion brands to develop and manufacture their clothing lines which have been sold in retail stores all over the world. ​She is a proud alumna of FIT, New York and SFD, Boston, where she was recently awarded “The 2020 Distinguished Alumni Award”. ETHICAL & SUSTAINABILITY APPROACH With design operations out of Boston, MA and production done in India, we are committed to implementing an ethical and sustainable approach to fashion design. From working with women owned factories who value their workers wellbeing to garment creation in a more eco-friendly manner, we realize that sustainable and ethical fashion work in a complementary manner and we strive to make better choices to improve the social, economic, and environmental systems in which the fashion industry functions.Read their story
