About Ceramiche Simonetti

The five centuries of ceramic art tradition in Castelli are found in the artisan workshop SIMONETTI, founded and directed by Master ceramist Giovanni Simonetti, who in 1967 took over an old workshop and began his activity using traditional systems such as the foot-operated wheel and the "breathing" wood-fired kiln. Even today, the Simonetti Ceramic Art House holds a prestigious place in the landscape of Italian artistic craftsmanship. The philosophy of Master Giovanni Simonetti and his family is to maintain over time the ancient tradition of Castelli ceramics, an entirely handcrafted production, made with art objects strictly worked and painted by hand. Antonio Simonetti, who obtained the Master of Art diploma at the Castelli Art High School, has taken over the CERAMICHE SIMONETTI brand and continues his production in the oldest workshop in Castelli, where qualified and artistically gifted craftsmen collaborate. Each ceramic is a small work of art, in which the artisan's hands express all the passion and professional competence passed down from father to son, a daily work that is careful and rigorous in respect of six centuries of history, culture, and tradition. Success is found in the majolica finely decorated by hand with a chromatic range of colors and glazes that give the object an evocative charm of past eras.
