Airship's coffee roasting business was born in response to the need to create demand for the coffee growers we were working with at the time. Our founder, Mark Bray, was completing his masters in horticulture, with the intention of starting a blueberry farm in Arkansas, when he had the opportunity to travel to Central America to help set up sustainable agriculture projects with coffee growing communities in Honduras & Guatemala. It was there that he fell in love with coffee; the growing, post-harvest processing, roasting, cupping, and all the complexities of building a supply chain from tree to cup. From there he began developing the rich relationships that are still present in Airship's business, more than ten year's later.
