About Mattea
MATTEA is a collection of artwork created by Cayla Mattea Zeek with a fusion of wordplay bantering in the artist's mind and her heart embracing flora, fauna, and culture in South Louisiana. Cayla started Mattea by illustrating greeting cards in her spare time while working at a local mom and pop shop and going to college for painting. After graduating, she became a middle school art teacher, but found her passion took over and she decided to pursue being an artist full-time. Currently, she works to create new illustrations for her brand, has painted her first public mural in Downtown Lafayette, directs music videos for local musicians, creates paintings reflecting her dreams and juggles all this while being a mama to her daughter, Josephine.
