About Penelope Plum Designs

I’m Bernadette Suski-Harding and I love creating jewelry that combines classic elements like pearls and gemstones in unexpected ways. In addition to everyday wear, I’ve recently added bridal party necklaces, earrings and bracelets to my catalog. All my pieces are heirloom quality and handcrafted by me in my studio in southeastern Hunterdon County, NJ. The feeling I get when I succeed in transforming what I saw in my mind—and which no doubt kept me up the night before—is indescribable, even for me, even still. I began creating jewelry when my daughter, Penelope, was little. She inspired my craft, so I named my jewelry design business after her and added ‘plum’ because I love what it calls to mind: sweet, juicy fruit, or something superior and very desirable.
