About Tree Drops

Tree Drops started from a unique painting process: being a self taught artist I stumbled across the style that I now consider my own, which is dropping a multitude of watercolors, letting them dry and tracing images and creatures I see; exactly like cloud gazing. My reverence and love for nature compelled me to start working with wood, an element I always wanted to connect with, and I feel that it infuses my art closer with nature. I source dried branches from Vancouver Island: Douglas fir, Sitka Spruce, Cedar, Arbutus, Apple, Maple, and Yew, then paint my images onto the wood and glazes them with non toxic resin. My delicate images are displayed in handmade wooden frames made out of reclaimed barn wood. Trying to capture the immense beauty of where I live, I forages wild flowers from Tofino, dry and press them on wood slices. I have created one of a kind jewelry line of pendants, rings and earrings, all are handmade, unique and glazed individually on both sides with non-toxic resin. My floral jewelry is also displayed on hanging mobiles I create using wooden beads, and driftwood branches from Tofino.
