Kate, an American fine artist met Daniele, an Italian model and menswear expert while on a two-week trip to Orvieto, Italy the night before returning to America. From the beginning, their dream was to combine their gifts to create something truly special, and so ANTONIELLA came to be - high-end scarves and pocket squares, uniquely designed with a modern, European flair. The Inspiration The Basilica di San Francesco in Assisi, Italy served as the original inspiration for ANTONIELLA. Covered in hand-painted frescoes and patterns by ancient masters Giotto and Cimabue, the church itself is a piece of art. In addition the surrounding landscape and architecture played a key role in the direction of the resulting designs. The Design Process Each design is painstakingly hand-illustrated by Kate in pen & ink, before being digitally converted, and colored. Significant time was spent on location in each area of inspiration so that the pieces truly reflect their surroundings. Over 100 hours of design go into each piece before printing and sewing begin. Created to be Worn Printed in England on high quality silk and sewn entirely by hand, these pieces are made to last. Not only is the quality sartorial in nature, but the colors and designs are created to pair well with a wide variety of items in a wardrobe, and yet have details that will help them stand out.
