About Hilustrada

Hilustrada is a design studio in Montevideo, Uruguay, that cares for the entire production process of its crafted products, from local wool selection to weaving and handmade details. All of Hilustrada´s work processes are focused on ethical trade and environmental responsibility while supporting female workers and traditional techniques. Florencia Bianchi, founder and creative director, is a fashion and textile designer specialized in crafted textiles. She started Hilustrada to combine her experience as a fashion designer with local resources as a way to value the skills of Uruguayan craftsmen and women using natural wool. She truly thinks that the shift to a more circular economy can be done using sustainability and ethics as key guides. Read their story
