About Lavender North Sky

Hi there, I’m April! I am a mom of 4 beautiful children, a wife and a Registered Nurse. I love sunflowers, the color purple and I am kind of a crazy chicken lady! I have always loved crafts and DIY’s. As a child I was always doing crafty things, it’s in my blood. My grandmother was super talented and both my parents are too. My mother taught me how to sew and knit as a young teen but once I found crochet there was no turning back. Crocheting is very therapeutic for me. It’s an outlet and allows me to unwind and do something that isn’t emotionally draining. I also love the reactions from people when they try my items on or pick something for a loved one. Making someone feel good about themselves is the most rewarding thing. I taught myself how to crochet by watching YouTube videos. When I first started I couldn’t even make a straight line or an even square!! Practice makes progress! I love playing with different stitches and seeing what creations are made from the things that inspire me. My favorite yarn to work with is chunky/bulky yarn. Anything that is soft and squishy. The White Mountains are so beautifully breathtaking and inspire me everyday. My shop carries handmade crochet items for you or your littles, and some patterns that I have designed.
