About Ponsa Barcelona

In the 1960s, Alejandro Ponsà's grandfather worked for a well-known gin brand and wanted to found his own liquor distillery. These were difficult times and after several attempts he was unable to carry out the project. It was during this period that Alejandro had his first experiences with the art of distillation. Now, Alejandro continues with the art of distillation, but in a totally different sector, the world of signature perfume. Alejandro started collecting signature perfumes, this passion led him to want to learn how to create his own niche perfume and his own brand: Ponsà Parfums. Alejandro now teaches a masterful perfumery course in Barcelona. He is passionate about nature and what can be learned from it. He has done a lot of fieldwork in the collection of plants, distillation and production of essential oils. He also had the opportunity to be advised by some artisan perfumery professionals in his hometown, Barcelona. Read their story
