About Samantha Koehn Art

Originally born in the United Kingdom. Moved to the United States in my early twenties. I have lived in Southern California and Houston, Texas for the past thirty years. I have been painting as long as I can remember. Marriage, Work and Motherhood put a hold on full time art for a while. I worked in corporate retail for approximately 20 years. Behind the scenes, with the buyers, advertising, and marketing departments. I consider myself a self-taught artist. I have been painting full time for the past two years, after forced retirement, due to COVID. I have a whimsy aesthetic to my paintings. I love color and metallic paint especially. I paint from the heart, sometimes it makes sense, sometimes not. I love to paint landscapes, and botanicals. Landscapes, especially West Texas. My botanicals are not defined just magical images. I have been told that people would love to live in the world I create on paper! I have found my niche with Watercolor. For years I was an acrylic artist. But watercolor now speaks to me. I am a collector of bespoke watercolor paints. I really love to use small batch, handmade paints. I am currently accepting commission work.
