Karen Depoorter van Callas Confiture ontdekte haar liefde voor confituur toen ze, met een moestuin vol aardbeien, op zoek ging naar de juiste smaken voor haar gasten in haar vroegere B&B. Al gauw kwam ze tot de ontdekking dat ze confituur – zo’n klassiek onderdeel van het ontbijt – niet lekker vond. De dagelijkse pot confituur bleek te gesuikerd en te gelei-achtig. Samengevat: te kunstmatig. Karen voelde de creativiteit opborrelen. Ze ging op zoek naar oprechte fruitsmaken en naar recepturen om een dagelijks product allerminst alledaags te maken. Callas Confiture – echte Haute Confiture – was geboren. Het verhaal van Karen en Callas Confiture is nog steeds een blijvende zoektocht naar kwalitatieve ingrediënten, originele recepten en bijzondere smaakcreaties. Callas Confiture staat voor verse confituur: zonder een overdaad van suiker krijgt de fruitsmaak zo weer de boventoon.
