About Doodle Me Alive

Jae Lin is the artist behind Doodle Me Alive. With buoyant artwork and hand lettering, their work focuses on trans liberation, loving affirmations, and the possibilities of healing. Jae loves making words look as powerful and beautiful as they feel to them. I call Austin, TX home, and I love being a trans Texan. In addition to lettering the same word over and over again until it looks right, I also spend my days as the executive director of Gender Unbound, which uplifts trans and intersex artists in central Texas. Since 2016, I've also hosted biweekly Queer Art Nights, where queer creatives meet up for coffee and tea with sketchbooks, gossip, and silly projects in tow. Art and belonging are critical pathways towards building our shared vision of collective liberation, and we won't get there without sharing moments of awe, hope, and wonder together.Read their story
