My name is Mary Mattingly. I’m a dreamer and am called to make artwork so more people can imagine what else is possible. I create photographic collections of imagined futures, as well as commissions. I’ve published books, won a Guggenheim Foundation grant, and my artwork has headlined exhibitions around the world. I’ve also created a floating island with an edible landscape that NYC adopted as a temporary park. I create artwork that inspires engagement, wonder, and possibility. Artwork should add value to everyone's life, value that is exponential and unquantifiable. My artwork helps people dream bigger and imagine what else is possible. They evoke the passage of time and transformation. These aluminum photographs are available here in a limited edition as a fundraiser for a project centered on food access: Swale, a floating food forest on a barge and a place where anyone can come to pick fresh food for free in NYC.
