About TyKat Glass

Hi, my name is Ty and I am the glass sculptor and artist behind TyKat Glass. Everything is handmade by myself in my studio in Revelstoke BC, Canada. On Faire I have a selection of my most popular glass mushroom plant spikes. I currently have these in over 30 retail locations across Canada and the USA. They are a fantastic impulse item as all the different colors catch peoples eye and draw them in. A great display is to have them in a moss bowl or in a pot standing up in the soil. Wood cookies or blocks also work it you drill holes for the clear spike to sit in. If you think that my mushrooms would be a good fit for your store but are not totally sure lets discuss some samples. Write me a message with a little bit of information about your store and I can send a couple free samples to you! All of my glasswork is made from the highest quality Italian glass. It is still manufactured on the island of Murano in Venice. I purchase the glass as a 12-13 inch canes of clear/opaque/transparent raw glass. I then use a propane and oxygen fueled torch to melt and shape it. All of the shaping and sculpting is done when the glass is above 1700 degrees! Once complete it is cooled slowly to room temperature in a digitally controlled kiln. Thanks for reading and let me know if you have any questions. TyRead their story
