Indigena was born in the kitchen from the free and lively experimentation of two friends: Agata, cooking teacher, and Rita, journalist and writer. No ancient family recipe handed down, just a common passion for the botany of Etna and for new combinations that look at traditional knowledge with a contemporary eye and taste. Indigenous people draw their lifeblood from pleasant excursions on Mount Etna, from the stories of farmers, able to tell the wild Sicilian countryside in simple words, from the advice of expert agronomists, from the echo of a rich and varied culture. But above all, from a deep harmony with Nature. The desire to describe what are the small pleasures of life, the immense sense of belonging to this land and a genuine and pure will are at the origin of Indigenous.
