GODNII literally as a dream when the funder, Ali, was just 16 years old. He woke up from that dream to quickly write everything down. The details were then sealed in an envelope for 5 years until he met his business partner, who told him to pursue the dream. So Ali did just that. From 2013 to 2020, they did research and development work, met with overseas manufacturers and had setback after setback. They sold a few pair but could never quit get the pricing and customization they wanted. Months before the pandemic began, Ali asked himself a question that changed the entire course of his life. "What can I do today, not tomorrow, to make this vision happen; not in the future if I had all the money and resources, but today?" That question allowed him and his team to make more progress in 1 year than they had in 5. 3 month into the COVID-19 pandemic, Ali's job began closing locations and he began working on the VISION full time. He went from prototyping in his mom's garage, to developing a design and manufacturing process to make eyewear in his hometown, DETROIT.Read their story
