Shipping is one of the least glamorous aspects of selling wholesale. It’s also one of the most important – both to your brand’s bottom line and your buyer’s satisfaction. Our Ship with Faire programme is built to support both. 

Ship with Faire helps brands like yours streamline order management and make sure you can provide the best customer service possible. You can print your own shipping labels and commercial invoices directly through Faire’s order-fulfilment page and fulfil orders through major carriers like UPS, FedEx or DHL with low rates that we’ve negotiated on your behalf (see full list of available carriers in your order-fulfilment page). And as of March 2024, these rates are now better than ever

If you haven’t tried shipping with Faire yet, or it’s been a while since you’ve tried it, we’ve put together this short guide to get you up to speed.

Why brands choose to Ship with Faire

Each time you fulfill an order on Faire, you’ve got two choices for how to handle shipping: You can ship on your own with your carrier of choice, or you can ship with Faire. Here are a handful of reasons why brands love the latter:

  • Low shipping rates with reputable carriers: We negotiate with major carriers – including UPS, FedEx and DHL – on your behalf to get affordable rates. Not only does this mean less expensive shipping, but also eliminates any third-party shipping software expenses.
  • Pay nothing up front. When you ship on your own, you need to submit your shipping costs for reimbursement, creating an additional administrative burden. When you ship with Faire, we cover the initial cost, so you pay zero shipping costs up front. This helps brands like you manage their cash flow and is particularly valuable for heavy orders and/or shipments travelling a long distance where the cost of shipping is higher.
  • Easy order-fulfilment process: With our shipping labels, retailers will automatically receive tracking information and stay in the loop on their order’s status. One UK-based home decor brand even says shipping with Faire is one of their favourite things about the platform that keeps them coming back, “just because it’s so easy”.
  • Straightforward international shipments. Shipping internationally for the first time? Ship with Faire will help you navigate duties and customs clearance by allowing you to add all the relevant information up front, so you and your retailers can rest easy. In fact, one Italian kids and baby brand says they decided to try Ship with Faire because they’d never shipped to the US before and were unsure of cross-border taxes, but found that everything went smoothly with Faire. How shipping with Faire works

The best part about Ship with Faire is how easy it makes the order-fulfilment process for brands. You’ll be prompted to choose your shipping method each time you fulfil an order on Faire. Simply select “Ship with Faire” and…

  1. Choose the package type, e.g. custom size or pre-set rate
  2. Enter its dimensions and weight
  3. Confirm your shipping details
  4. Upload any export documents relevant for customs clearance if it’s an international order
  5. Print your labels (and commercial invoice if it’s an international order)
  6. Drop the packages off with your chosen carrier

The shipping cost and tracking number are automatically recorded, so you don’t need to worry about keeping track of this information or paying anything up front. You can also add a handling and packaging fee to your order. Default carrier insurance is applied for any orders that are damaged or lost in transit by the carrier as well. 

Where is Ship with Faire available?

Ship with Faire is currently available to brands in the US, Canada, Australia, the UK, and European countries including Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Spain and Sweden.

When might a brand choose to ship on their own?

This option might work better for you and your team if you prefer to handle shipping on your own for any reason. You’ll just have to manually enter the shipping costs and tracking number for each order, then you’ll cover the shipping costs up front and we’ll refund up to an approved amount for those orders in your order payout. This cost will be added to the retailer’s final invoice. 

It’s important to note that Ship with Faire is not suitable for: 

  • Shipments of dangerous goods or hazardous materials 
  • Orders shipped on pallets 
  • Refrigerated shipments 
  • Orders shipped using local carriers

If your products qualify as any of these, you will need to ship on your own and include all the required documentation and labeling for your chosen shipping carrier.
