Allspice is a sun dried berry that is native to the West Indies. It smells like a combination of cinnamon, cloves, nutmeg and ginger all at once. These whole berries are often used when preserving foods or ground to incorporate into rubs, baked goods and seasonings. It is a primary spice in Jamaican Jerk seasoning.
