My latest series of miniature houses features colorful cottages. I make each house by hand cutting a solid piece of porcelain clay and hollowing it out. I then add a bottom to the house and carve details. After the first firing the houses are sanded and washed, covered in various oxide washes, painted and glazed before being fired in the kiln for the second time. After that I sand the bottoms of the pieces to make sure they are smooth . Each little house is made by hand, is absolutely unique and houses measure anywhere between 1”- 2.5” in height. You can place these little houses on your desk, bookcase, or in a planter.
