Description
This colorful, hand-knotted "recycled" rug is a truly unique piece, as no two are alike. Created by a Berber woman, it is made mostly of cotton - recycled textiles aka boucherouite - and features pieces of cut cotton clothing that have been woven into the cotton base. Measuring approximately 2m50 x 1m20 and boasting a vibrant multicolor design of pink, blue, neon, and black, this rug has been directly imported. As an expert in the industry, I personally select beautiful, one-of-a-kind pieces during my purchasing trips to Morocco that perfectly complement our concept. By bidding directly with local merchants at the criée berbère of the carpet souks in Marrakech, we are able to skip many of the intermediate channels. To maintain this rug, avoid machine washing and instead use traditional methods of vacuuming, whipping, and cleaning with water and brown soap. After cleaning, let it dry in the sun. Because the boucherouite rug is vintage, there may be some minor irregularities and signs of use and age. We think that this gives it that beautiful vintage character.
