Rose geranium is one of the scented geraniums and is native to the South African steppe. Fragrant geraniums have also become very popular in Europe - as an aromatic decoration for balconies, terraces and gardens. They are contact scents; fine glandular hairs sit on the leaves, which release fragrances when touched or windy. Rose geranium is used in natural cosmetics and as a raw material for perfumery.
