This piece interprets the Proto Indo-European creation myth of Manu and Yemo. In the myth, Manu sacrifices Yemo and from his body parts creates earth, wind, stone, water, blood and humanity. Proto Indo-European was likely a dead language by 2500 bce, yet its vestiges, including this myth, survive in the language and folklore of Indic, Norse, Germanic, Avestan and Roman traditions. This print is a reproduction of an original oil on birch panel painting. High quality fine art prints made on archival matte paper and signed by the artist.
