Description
This piece interprets the Proto Indo-European creation myth of Manu and Yemo. In the myth, Manu sacrifices Yemo and from his body parts creates earth, wind, stone, water, blood and humanity. Proto Indo-European was likely a dead language by 2500 bce, yet its vestiges, including this myth, survive in the language and folklore of Indic, Norse, Germanic, Avestan and Roman traditions. This print is a reproduction of an original oil on birch panel painting. High quality fine art prints made on archival matte paper and signed by the artist. All prints are individually wrapped in a sleeve and include a sturdy backing board for easy display. Each image has a roughly 1/2" white border around it. Each art print includes a short informational paragraph containing the lore and attributes of the figure as well as the artist's interpretation of their mythology. These unique informational write-ups increase customer engagement and sales, and provide a window into the artist's thinking.
