Description
Marsha P. Johnson was a black trans woman and activist who was known throughout Greenwich Village in the 70's and 80's. Marsha was an outspoken gay-rights activist, took part in the 1969 uprising at the Stonewall Inn. She also founded a STARhome, with her friend and fellow activist Sylvia Rivera, which provided shelter, food, clothing, and emotional support to homeless gay and trans people. My illustration of Marsha is meant as a tribute to her legacy, as well as a reminder that we still have so far to go to reach equal rights for the LGBTQ community and PoC. This listing is for a high quality vinyl sticker. All Images ©Maria R Vallese/Retro Sorrento 2020
