Description
Garden Nasturtium Tropaeolum majus Indigenous to South America's Andes mountains, nasturtiums have long been used by humans as food, medicine, and decoration for thousands of years. They were introduced to Europe in the early 16th Century by Spanish conquistadors. At the time, they were known as "Indian Cress" - Later being named "Nasturtium," which is Latin for "nose-twister" due to its peppery taste. The seeds were ground and used as a substitute for black pepper during WWII. Nasturtiums are perfect beginner garden plants. The poorer the soil, the better it will produce. High in vitamin c, iron, and manganese - all parts of the plant are edible. They make a great companion plant and are used as a "trap crop" by attracting pests away from vegetables. ------------ This illustration is directly drawn from the Nasturtiums that grow in my garden and the insects I’ve found hiding in their leaves. This sticker has a glossy finish. ------------ Colors may vary slightly due to individual monitor settings. 3" x 4" ------------ Weather and light resisted with a 2-4 year minimum outdoor life span. PVC Free! Eco-friendly packaging
