This is an A4 print of a watercolour kingfisher, painted in an expressive way. To paint this, I started off with the expressive background. Once that was dry, I very lightly sketched the kingfisher over the top, making best use of the natural edges of the background. I tried to keep the detail in the kingfishers head, but keep the rest of the painting loose. The original was painted using professional quality watercolours. This is printed onto museum grade archival textured paper. I picked textured paper as it closely resembles the watercolour paper I use, which compliments the print really nicely.
