Sexes are fairly similar and striking. The ground colour is black dusted with green scales, and there is a prominent iridescent green band crossing both wings. Green chevrons ring the hind-wing and the tail is a stunning blue-green colour, sometimes greenish. The butterfly inhabits the rain-forest.
