Unfortunately these roots do not look very realistic at all (just one solid army green color). I feel rubbery + have a single smooth texture. Since ordering these, I have found much more realistic-looking orchid roots that have the white-like orchid root exterior variegated throughout. I wish more brands on Faire offered single SKU product samples for R&D/quality control purposes vs. having to spend a ton on shipping + ordering 6-12+ of a single SKU at a time -- specifically for this reason.
