The story of the Snow Chrysanthemum is relatively recent and has not yet stood the test of time, but it has followed the crucial early steps of any legend. At the end of the last century, a Uyghur shepherd named Kuxier, living in the Karakorum mountains, discovered this astonishing plant. The Snow Chrysanthemum, found at over 6000 meters altitude, is distinguished by its bright golden color, similar to that of chrysanthemums, hence its name "Xue Ju" or "Snow Chrysanthemum."
