A natural BIRDHOUSE Gourds, the perfect house for our feathered friends who built a nest. Each birdhouse gourd starts with a natural gourd that was hand picked, dried, painted, dyed, carved out floral relieved & varnished to resist weather conditions. After a few seasons for our feathered friends, it will decompose naturally and return to Mother Earth. The tradition and techniques of carved gourds is an artistic expression that dates back over 3,000 years and carried down from generation to generation. Production: A dozen of birdhouse takes 1 week to complete, without considering growing, picking and sun drying process. Gourds are grown and dried in Northern Peru and crafted in home workshops in Lima & Huancayo, Peru. Every birdhouse gourd is one of a kind depends of its shape, size and handmade design.
