Our apparel company, born in Hawaii, celebrates island life with a salty attitude. Whether you are a kayaking champion or you’ve been on a surfboard once, Get Salty is for the feisty adventurer in all of us. After moving to Hawaii, Blair (our founder and CEO) began racing sailboats regularly to meet people and make friends. Her mother had skin cancer early in her life with a relapse 10 years later, so she was concerned about all the sun she was getting while racing and all her other new outdoor activities. She set out to find a hat for sun protection but couldn’t find anything that spoke to the nature of all her new hobbies. And thus, Get Salty was born. She actually had to order 12 hats to get the design made, so there were 11 to pawn off on friends! Luckily, in about a week, she had sold all 11 and realized the phrase might have some teeth. Since then, we’ve been adding new designs as outdoor inspiration occurs and steadily growing our retail partners.
