BEFORE DENIM, BEFORE CHINOS, THERE WERE GRAYERS Being a history buff, I was reading about Britain in the 1930s. At the time, young men at Oxford and Cambridge switched from wearing three-piece suits to gray flannel trousers, commonly known as Grayers. And the casual menswear movement was born. Grayers were the must-have from British society to American prep schools. It’s hard to imagine today but at that time wearing Grayers was considered radical. I was instantly inspired by the name and the spirit behind it. I set out to create a brand that rewrites the classics—making them well-crafted, redefined, and modern—without breaking the bank. THE SECRET SAUCE We obsess over our “secret sauce.” Each season we hunt for the unique and original, and focus on digging up and developing interesting fabrics as well as inventive ways of weaving, knitting, cutting, and sewing. We invest time in perfecting what makes our clothes stand out from the ordinary. FROM ORDINARY TO STAND OUT Our process begins with a vintage reference. We comb through everything from European and Japanese vintage shops to clothing archives, turning unique finds into something special. We then modernize them with the latest fabrics and fit. Our prints and plaids are custom-designed. Nothing we make is off the shelf. There is so much more than what is on this page. Want to chat more?
