KaWaii Baby was started in 2008 in Vancouver, BC, Canada by a Canadian woman owned business, after learning how toxic disposable diapers can be to both the environment and babies. “I was shocked to find out that disposable diapers can take as many as 500 years to decompose. Additionally, they may contain dioxin, a harmful byproduct of the bleaching process that could come into contact with your baby’s skin.” Another disturbing fact: disposable diapers are made from materials that can trigger allergies, limit air circulation, and increase body heat – conditions known to cause diaper rash and promote infection.
