Christopher's Background With a lifelong background in metalworking, Christopher’s journey began long before Modern Elements. Having worked extensively with metal throughout his career, he combines his hands-on experience with a love for design. Growing up in an artistic family—his uncle a geometric and abstract artist, and his father a fine art dealer—Christopher was immersed in the world of art from an early age, making creativity a natural part of his life. The Craft Behind His Art Christopher’s extensive skills as a trained engineer play a key role in his creative process. Techniques such as welding, drilling, sanding, grinding, and painting are integral to his work, along with a mastery of patina finishes. Each piece is handcrafted to order from his studio in the UK, using only premium materials like aluminum, copper, brass, and stainless steel. Aluminum, in particular, is his material of choice due to its durability and lightweight nature, allowing for ease of manipulation and sculpting.
