Karelia Creations was born from personal loss and a commitment to healthier living in a digital world. In 1999, my husband Frank passed away at age 32 after a short battle with glioblastoma, the most aggressive form of brain cancer, leaving me to raise our one-year-old son alone. Years later, in 2014, I learned that brain cancer had become the leading cause of cancer-related deaths in children, with rates continuing to rise alongside increased exposure to modern technology. That moment sparked years of research into electromagnetic radiation and natural materials known for their grounding and protective properties. Drawing on both personal experience and education, I founded Karelia Creations in 2014 to help people make more mindful choices in an increasingly connected world. At the heart of our products is authentic shungite, a rare carbon-rich stone traditionally used for grounding and protection. We incorporate shungite into thoughtfully designed jewelry and accessories that blend function with modern style. Our mission is simple: to inspire healthier, more balanced living in the digital age.
