About La Compiano

Simple and comfortable garments, where the value is placed on their shape, and the imprint on the textile design. My name is Pia, I am the person behind this project. I have been trained as a Textile Designer and Patron Designer. I am a firm believer in limited editions, in local consumption and in less is more. Less consumption, more durable garments. The Compiano is a meaningful project, designed and developed since 2000. I inherited the love for manual crafts from other generations and am happy to be able to keep them going. My grandfather was a cabinetmaker, my father a carpenter, my great-grandmother a dressmaker, my grandmother a weaver. And as if she could not or did not want to avoid it... the daughter was transformed into a textile “maker”. I say “maker” because everything interests me, fabrics, dyes, prints, processes. I defend fair and responsible production, with noble and sustainable materials. My intention: that each garment will accompany you for many, many years. I create unique garments in keeping with our time, but using traditional artisanal processes. The sewing workshops are located in or around Barcelona, and I know each of their members. I have a personal relationship with them, I know about their life and their family.
