Growing up in Oklahoma City, my best memories were built around great barbeque. Every Saturday, my family gathered at our warehouse for lunch from our favorite local BBQ joint. The hickory-smoked brisket, ribs, and hot links were served simply on white bread—but what made it unforgettable was the sauce: tangy, perfectly balanced, and distinctly Oklahoma-style. After moving to Chicago, I searched everywhere for that flavor. Most sauces were either too sweet, too thick, or loaded with artificial ingredients. I missed that perfect in-between sauce—not as thin as Carolina vinegar, not as heavy as Kansas City—with a tomato and apple cider vinegar base that defines authentic Oklahoma BBQ. That's when Okie Bo's was created. What We Believe Good barbecue sauce should taste like it came from a local BBQ joint, not a factory.
