Fields Outfitting is a portal to the vibrant, beautiful, mysterious and whimsical country that is Argentina expressed through home, kitchen and fashion goods. Fields Outfitting is a creative outlet that values very highly the art of making things locally, slowly, intentionally, and by hand. We appreciate the often-overlooked makers behind the products just as much as we do the product and empower artisan and craftspeople by paying fair wages, showcasing their processes and handiwork, and creating opportunity, and telling their stories. From the remote Chané indigenous group carving and painting beautiful decorative masks in Salta, to the weavers who dye, spin and loom rugs and tapestries on farms in Jujuy, to the ladies that hand-embroider our berets in the villas of Chacarita, to the hyper-capable knifemaking collective known as Ramo Filos making professional-grade kitchen knives out of a repurposed stocking factory in La Paternal, we think that they are the real stars of the show. Fields Outfitting is the creation of Asheville native Ryan Volatile, and Patagonia-born Nicolás Pedalino, who met at the University of Buenos Aires, and both live and work in Buenos Aires, where the company is based.
