About Things With A Story

Stories Stories draw communities together. Over time and across space for centuries humans have connected through pictures and words. Here, we believe in the power of stories to transcend borders. We’re Scandinavian by birth, international by choice, and every one of our products is sustainably made in Norway then sent out into the world to spread some love. Each one has a story to tell. Let’s set them free and see where they take us… Who? But who are we? We are PlayDesign – the story of Ken and Aud Helen. We started in 2007, in Stavanger, when we sat down and shared our dreams for a design agency. Of course, we knew it would be super-creative. But we also wanted happy designers, in a playful culture. These dreams came true. And we had more wishes. We wanted to create our own products. Pieces that tell stories. That inspire people to listen and bring them all together; united. This is our story - and the beginning of "Things With A Story". Why? We’re all for technology and innovation, we love our coffee machine and our playlists, but let’s not forget the little human touches. When was the last time you dropped someone a line? Not an emoji, or a message, but a handwritten note? It can change a person’s day. They might carry it with them, burning a hole in their pocket. They might put it over the fireplace or next to the fruit bowl and look at it tomorrow morning over breakfast. You can’t do that with a text.Read their story
