About Twisted Olive

As a nurse I have always been interested in which foods promote health and a healthy life, without sacrificing on flavor. I did a lot of research and learned about Omega 3 fatty acids and Antioxidants. Long story short: chronic inflammation is believed to be a leading driver of many diseases including heart disease, metabolic syndrome, cancer, diabetes, and arthritis. It turns out that extra virgin olive oil has Omega 3 fatty acids and antioxidants which promote anti-inflammation! As I became more interested in extra virgin olive oil (EVOO) I found myself at a crossroads in my career. It all came together while I was on a trip to California while visiting family. We were in a small town in wine country and as I strolled around, I ventured into a store specializing in EVOO and Balsamic Vinegar. I bought my first bottle of Basil infused EVOO and to put I mildly, I was inspired! I came up with the name, Twisted Olive, while flying back from California. I thought, "This is what I'm supposed to do. I've been training for this my whole life!" My husband Scott jumped on board (immediately after he got over the shock of my quitting my job) as his background is in food and beverage. We began and remained, a family owned and operated business. Along the way we have tried to contribute to our community, and love the relationships we have built while doing so!
