About Ellen Kency

I always liked art. It was my favorite subject in school though, and now I'm going to be a bit old-fashioned to say this: but "in my day" being an artist or working in art didn't carry the tag of: this person is so cool! Therefore, I tried to find myself with professions and studies that would bring me money and this lasted for years. I studied and worked in design, photography, office, customer service, telemarketing, store attendant, phew! So many different jobs. So I saw myself after 3 colleges started but never finished, 1 degree in advertising and many years of experience with several things that did not bring me happiness, and often not even money! So, after I turned 30, I found myself diagnosed with depression, anxiety and no happiness. It was at this point in my life that I looked back on my first love. That one which moved my soul and my imagination, which had the gift of taking me out of a world of chaos and taking me to the colorful and infinite fields of magical things. I went back to paper and pencil and the many inks I never had a chance to try. I found my way. Now, studio Ellen Kency is the beginning of this new path of sharing my magical worlds with people who love art. Read their story
