About RareBlue

Nico de Printzi is an industrial designer, an engineer and an educator. Nico approaches every design phase of his projects with emphasis on the physical presence of the object and the tactile experience by the user – an experience that is (almost) lost in the digital age. According t his own words: ‘’Geometry, size, material define our tactile experience with the physical world. Materials and subtle, aesthetic details create a distinctive appearance. The balanced combination of those elements – without sacrificing functionality - evokes positive emotions, memories, ideas. This is the design I am interested in. ’’ A long time collector of industrial items from the beginning of the 20th century, Nico has a high appreciation for art-inspired design, fine craftsmanship and natural materials. He believes that contemporary design should embody the timeless values of industrial design throughout its evolution. Adopting such a design approach, an object obtains historical perspective; it becomes classic and a conversation piece that blends uniquely with contemporary home décor. Read their story
