Tallow for the People started from a search for non-toxic but effective skin care products that are also sustainable and honoring of our connection and dependence on Mother Earth. A long journey with a sick child made me rethink not only what we as a family eat, but also what we put on our bodies and how our consumption effects the health of our planet. After turning to traditional wisdom for nutrition, I found ancient skin care practices that were sill being honored and valued. From the dunes of Namibia to the mountains of the Himalayas women are using animal fat to keep their families' skin healthy, protected and youthful. Inspired by the wisdom from these ancient traditions we created skin care that combines the powers of tallow and healing herbs to nourish and heal, making it suitable for most skin types and ages. Just like the wise cultures that still understand our deep dependence on Nature and her plants and animals, we at Tallow for the People value sustainable practices that honor the earth. Our tallow comes from small, local farmers in the mountains of Utah. The medicinal herbs we use to infuse our tallow balms with are grown in our own garden or sourced from companies that value fair trade and work with small farmers. As Tallow for the People continues to thrive, we remain steadfast in our commitment to inspire others to embrace the healing properties of nature and the profound connection between humans and the earth.
