After an extensive visit to a well-stocked gin bar in 2013, I made the decision to distill my own gin. I believe that such a “juniper schnapps” cannot be a big challenge, I immediately set to work. The first “batch” was distilled and the disillusionment was great — “Gin was a simple matter — far from it.” It was followed by 3 years of intensive research with many distillation tests and sleepless nights. It was a big challenge to develop our own recipe that is balanced in taste and easy to digest. In autumn 2017, the time had come — the recipe was fully developed and the knowledge of the distillation process was internalized, and 5020 London Dry Gin was born. Our motto — quality over quantity. This is reflected in the selection of our botanicals and the production volume. We only distill in a small 100l copper distillery — “small batch” is actually an exaggeration for us is more of a “micro-batch” production in which an average of 75l bottles of 700ml are distilled per batch. Great attention to detail, honest handwork is our daily bread. A gentle distillation process, 3 months maturing time, very slow grading to drinking strength make it possible to bottle 5020 London Dry Gin unfiltered. And you can taste that too. The high percentage of essential oils gives 5020 London Dry Gin its unique aroma. A gin that can also be enjoyed pure
