About Le simple

The Collective of Rural and Solidarity Initiatives is an association under the 1901 law, established in Aveyron in 2012. Since 2015 we have been settled in the Lot in the center of the medieval village Puy L'Évêque. The collective was formed quite naturally around a group of people who live on a daily basis with issues related to rurality. The need to create a tool that allows work to be shared in rural areas quickly became obvious to curb the phenomenon of desertification in the countryside. Depending on the skills of each individual, we have set up various production activities (soap making, market gardening and food processing) but also school support and a bit of crafts. Sometimes even catering organic vegetarian meals. Thus was the birth of the artisanal soap factory! Currently, we mainly manufacture hygiene products (soaps and shampoos, deodorants, creams and solid balms) in one of our premises. As well as food processing (spreads and zucchini pickles) in our room dedicated to food. We operate as a cooperative of collective interest, that is to say that the profits of all productions can only be used by the collective within the framework established by the statutes. Basically: to be used to pay salaries when possible (half-time) and invest in equipment or goods in order to develop other productions.Read their story
