About Pew Pew Lasercraft

I’m Lizz, the designer behind Pew Pew Lasercraft, and I’ve been a Maker since before “making” was a thing. From Girl Scout badge projects to art school, and the early days of blogging DIY tutorials, I’ve always been creating and crafting in both the digital and real worlds. I caught the laser-cutting bug in 2014, got my first laser in 2018, and officially launched Pew Pew Lasercraft in 2019. Laser cutting perfectly combines my graphic design background with my love for getting hands-on and making something from nothing. PPLC grew out of my passion for all things geek (especially Star Wars) and finding joy in the little things. Just hearing the iconic pew pew sound makes me smile, and my customers at in-person events can’t resist joining in, often with finger guns blazing. I live with my husband and son in Northern California’s Sierra Foothills. From my home workshop, I design every piece while looking out over the Bear River and the mountains beyond. Each product is crafted with care by me, start to finish. I make products for those who, like me, agree with Oscar Wilde: “Life is too important to be taken seriously.” I love injecting humor into daily life whenever possible. Why stir soup with a boring spoon when one could remind you to “Turnip the beet”? Custom requests are my favorite.
